Phil 'Th
e Ghost Hunter'
I'm Phil 'The Ghost Hunter. I was born and raised in Derby. I started this website in early 2006 on my own. But since then I have become we. Slowly but surely a small team has been put together and I'd like to introduce them to you. First though, I'll tell you a bit about myself.
For as far back as I can remember, I've had an absolute fascination with with the supernatural. This includes UFO's, the Loch Ness Monster and even the Big Foot. But my ultimate fascination lies with ghosts! Whenever I walked past a book with a picture of a ghost on it, or the word ghost in the title in the school library, I would instantly pick it up and take a look. Whenever there was a horror movie about ghosts, I would watch it. The only things I would watch on TV were things like 'strange but true' and 'Most Haunted'. In school the stories I wrote would be ghost stories and now I'm hoping to write my first book on the subject.
My first encounter with a ghost was when I was no more than 6 years old. I was in bed, awake, with the light on and the door open. I looked towards the door to see a pair of hands grip the edge followed by a peeking head of a teenaged boy. The person I saw looked no different to a normal living person. He was as clear as the nose on my face. Then the boy slowly faded away. At first, the idea of a ghost didn't enter my head, because to me as a child, a ghost would be see-through and white. This wasn't. It was only when he faded away, I knew that I had just seen my first ghost. Since then I have seen numerous things because I live in a haunted house. I did see the boy once more but when I told anyone they didn't believe me. That was until my Dad saw him standing at the top of the stairs!

Lee 'The Sceptic'
This is Lee 'The Sceptic'. He is from Newcastle but has lived in Derby since 1997. As you can gather by his nickname, Lee is the member of the team who needs the most convincing that the ghost phenomenon is real. He has never seen a ghost and never expects to, however, he would like to. Although 'The Sceptic' has heard stories from many people both old and young, he would still like to think seeing is believing.
Soon to be a proud father, there is no telling how much longer Lee will be a part of the Ghosthunteruk.com crew. As deputy of the crew he plays an important role and if he was to leave he would be greatly missed. The good news in that Lee believes that he will be with the team for many more moons to come.

Karla 'The Fearful'
This is Karla 'The Fearful' from Tamworth. She is a person who loves to be scared and this is her reason for joining the team. When she speaks about ghosts she will start to laugh but has always said that she is totally terrified of the concept of ghosts.
When Karla was a child, she was witness, to what for her, was the scariest thing in her life. As most little girls, she had a collection of 'My Little Pony' toys. The collection included the 'Pony Castle'. On one particular day Karla noticed that the castle had been moved. When she asked her parents about it they told her that they hadn't touched it. Karla thought that maybe she had made a mistake and it was always there and so she placed it back where it should be. When 'The Fearful' woke up the following morning, she notice that the castle had been moved again. By this time she was a little worried but still thought her parents were playing tricks on her. When they were asked for a second time they told her to stop being silly. The next night she lined the castle up with edge of the dresser and attempted to go to sleep. This was the night that Karla would experience her scariest moment ever! She awoke to find the castle floating in the air, make a 180 degree turn and touch back down. She was absolutly terrified. From that day, Karla knew ghosts existed!

Mark 'The Knowledge'
This is Mark 'The Knowledge', from Luton. Mark is by far the brains in the crew. With knowledge in history, monarchs, crime & punishment and rational thinking, Mark is a valuable member of the team.
Mark has never experienced any kind of ghostly encounter but hopes to on one of our investigations. Although he has never experienced anything out of the ordinary, he still remains very open minded and believes that there is more after death than we know about.
When I asked Mark how he would react to seeing anything spooky he told me he would have a mixture of emotions. He would be excited, happy, quizzical and maybe even scared witless!

Simon 'The Mediums Son'
This is one of the newest members of the team, Simon 'The Mediums Son', from Derby. Simons background is different from the rest of us because, as you can probably tell by his nickname, his mother has dabbled in the unknown by communicating with the deceased and performing tarot readings. Simon believes that some of the gift has been passed on to him, but he claims that it is nowhere near as powerful as his mothers gift.
Many people claim to have seen or felt the presents of a ghost or somekind of supernatural being, but not many can say that they have had a conversation with one......Simon can!
One evening, Simon was walking through a church yard. He had been walking for a while and so decided to give himself a rest. He sat on a bench in the graveyard area where an old woman was already sitting. Simon greeted her by saying good evening and she courtiously replied. The two of them got into conversation about various different things, before simon noticed that the people walking past were giving him funny looks. He metioned this to the old lady and she told him it was because they couldn't see her. Simon giggled because he thought she was joking, but then she slowly faded away as if she was never there to start with. From that day Simon knew that he shared his mothers gift.
It is Simons job to try and connect with the other side through the power of seance or ouija board. We need to know who these spirits are and try and evidence that they did live to prove Simon's gift!

Amy 'The Doubtful'
Originally from Middlesex, Amy 'The Doubtful' is the youngest member of the crew. She had never experienced any supernatural activity until she joined Ghosthunteruk.com, but now she has heard the strange unexplicable sounds and has noticed that objects have moved without anyone touching them.
Although these strange things have happened around her, she still remains doubtful that it was anything paranormal. Amy believes in ghosts but takes alot of convincing that something that happens may not be something of natural causes. The most interesting thing about Amy is that in recent pictures, she appears to be surrounded by orbs!

Steve 'The Camera-man'
This is Steve 'Tehe Camera-man', from Sheffield. Steve is a media studies student at Derby University and by far the most skillful with a camera. He chose to join the Ghosthunteruk.com crew because of his massive interest in the supernatural. Coming soon to Ghosthunteruk.com, will be the sale of DVD's of our ghostly investigations. With his camera skill and his knowlege in media, Steve will be our main camera man.
Like most of the crew, Steve has never been witness to anything inexplicable but remains very open minded and hopeful that he will capture something on film. Steve is also probably the calmest member of the crew and is very laid back. However, he said that if ever did come face to face with a ghost or supernatural being, he would be, and I quote, 'bricking it'!

Koreen 'The Brave'
This is Koreen 'The Brave', also from Sheffield. Koreen is someone who does believe in ghosts but again has never seen or witnessed anything. Koreen considers herself to be extremely brave because the concept of seeing a ghost absolutly terrifies her. Koreen is girlfriend to Steve 'The Camera-man', and she said that without steve she would never go on a ghost hunt.
Koreen hopes to never see a ghost because she thinks she might have a heart attack!
